Process Recording Exercise

Process of making Gnocchi with tomato sauce

  1. Wash and cut 4 tomatoes and half an onion

     2. Place the pieces of onion in a pot or pan with oil and let it fry lightly until it starts to turn brown. It takes about 5-7 minutes on a medium flame. (level 6 on my cooking plate)

    3. Once the onion is ready throw the chopped tomatoes and add salt

   4.  Use a mixer to create and blend the sauce and let it cook for about 10 minutes

   5.   In the meanwhile pour water in another pot adding salt, and let it boil  with a high flame (level 9 on my cooking plate)

     6.  When the water starts to boil, add the gnocchi (already made not homemade) and in 2 minutes they will be ready. You will notice when they are ready because they will rise to the surface.

    7.  Strain the gnocchi and add the tomato sauce. I added some Parmesan cheese on the final outcome as most Italians do.

Reflection: The making process was very simple and quick to complete. The outcome of the sauce could've have been better because it wasn't that tasty, but that depends on the quality of the tomatoes. Next time I could use a already made tomato sauce to achieve a better result.

  1. Good that you have added to process exercise. When recording the process, you must include final reflections that state what you thought about your final work, the process and how you might improve.
