Summary of results from primary research (questionnaire)

I performed a survey to evaluate the habits of social networking users. I kindly asked 10 people of different ages and gender to complete a 5 question survey in relation to their usage of social media. The audience was divided into 5 males and 5 females ranging from 16 to 59 years old. According to the statistics, 5 people out of 10 spend more than 5 hours on social media and use Instagram the most.   These participants resulted to be the teenage participants, from 16 to 20 years old. The findings show that as age increases,  people spend less of their time on social media.  Instagram seems to be more common among younger people while Facebook seems to be used more frequently by older people. As the ones who picked Facebook were in their late 50s.
They mainly use social media to interact with others and read news of the world, because none of the participants chose the choices of work, following celebrities or posting photos and ideas. Regardless of age and gender difference, 90% picked phone calls over WhatsApp texting. This suggests that teenagers are becoming less engaged with texting and more engaged with calls. The last question is very important because it highlights the fact that internet and social media is now a fundamental role of our lives. Only 20% would rather spend 1 day without internet instead of the tv, indicating that movie streaming platforms such as Netflix may have outdated tv. To sum up, younger people tend to be more frequent users of social media and prefer Instagram, while older people spend less time using the Internet and use older social media sites such as Facebook.
