 I would like to introduce a new friend I just met, his name is Andrei and he is from Moscow. This is his second time enrolling in DMU since he studied English last year. He is 22 years old and  his progression route will be Film making. He enjoys watching movies and playing games on the computer. Reflection on my Media Project 2

The Media Project I have carried out this term was probably the one that interested me the most out of the three projects I have created throughout this foundation year. At first, I was unsure on what work on but I wanted it to be related to fashion. I spent the first few weeks thinking of what to create until I had clearer ideas. I am satisfied with the interview I have made because I believe to have collected essential information for my article. However, I do think that I should have carried out further research. However the topic is  recent and narrow and therefore, most of the relevant articles say essential the same thing but in different ways. The challenge was, in fact, to say it in my own words and style and not imitate others. A second challenge was that the interview occurred at a late time throughout the 9th week and therefore had little time to write my first draft and then my final piece, if the interview had been made earlier I believe the article would have been ...

Research on Writers' Sketchbooks

In order to develop my own sketchbook/journal (blog) I had a look at how famous writers used their sketchbooks. I decided to stick with writers because it is most relevant to Journalism or Media and Communication. Sketchbooks are used by artists as a place to keep their initial ideas and thoughts. Sketchbooks contain all sort of writing, drawings and ideas because it is a place where artists can use their creativity to help them develop work. The image shown below is an excerpt from Fyodor Dostoevsky's Novel 'Demons'. The page appears pretty messy and filled with writing. A sketchbook our journal is used to keep track of any inspiration from an artist so the drawing on the left side is probably there as it helped him picture the story. There are  also crossed lines showing mistakes, a trial and error process maybe. Trying out different handwriting is seen on the left as well.
