Further Research on videos/videomakers

As further research I had a look at a this video by TED-Ed.  TED is an non-profit organization that was founded to share ideas through conferences on a variety of topics from business to science and more. TED-Ed is a branch of TED used as an educational service. It supports learning and the sharing of ideas between students and teachers. This video shown below is one of their animated videos found on youtube.

TED- Ed provides original content made by experts of animation, screenwriting and so on. My project will not include animations done by me but I could use copyright free animation. Pixabay provides stock that is apparently copyright free  'videos of Animated. ✓ Free for commercial use ✓ No attribution required ✓'. Although it does not have the cartoon animation shown in the video there is some footage that I can find useful. I saw a few that would fit but I will choose depending on the context of the video.

A second website called Videezy provides a few cartoon animated videos but it says it is Royalty-Free. When I opened a video that would be very useful for my project I saw this:

 I clicked on 'License Info'

The license states I can use this video but I have to credit Videezy.com. I hope so, because this website has a lot of stock I could benefit from.

A second feature I enjoyed from this video was the narration and tone of voice. I discussed before that I wanted to use an exciting and engaging tone of voice like the one in Vsauce. The video created by Michael Stevens is greatly affected by the background music. We can hear highs and lows in his voice while in this video by TED-Ed the voice maintains a steady volume. I think both work well. I will have to pick the tone of voice based on the information I will provide. When I provide research from scientists I will use the tone presented by TED-Ed and when I provide intriguing facts and fascinating theories perhaps on the symbolic meaning of dreams I will use the tone from Vsauce.

  1. How would you use animation in combination with real footage? For future research, it would be good to discuss some of the video and editing techniques more in-depth.
